1-When and why did you start playing?
I was 4 years old when I saw on tv children playing violin, that sounded so interesting that I wanted to start playing too. My mother’s friend’s daughter was a young violinist and she started to give me lessons and that’s how I started my violinist career.
2-Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
Oh, so many. There are so many talented violinists and also other musicians. For example Violinists Itzhak Perlman, Viktoria Mullova and Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto. Also so many talented singers, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston… I appreciate hard work and dedication for music. So hard to choose just a few.
3-Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
Well quite a long time ago all I was listening to was classical music. I was very overwhelmed by many masterpieces. Sibelius has always been my favorite composer, maybe cause I’m Finnish. But I’ve loved always r&b and soul rhythms, also latin music. Aretha Franklin was my first love.
4-Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?
I like many musicians and groups, but maybe the most Alicia Keys and Finnish band Sunrise Avenue.
5-Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes?
I attended last fall the Voice of Finland competition. No success yet, but my time is coming…
6-Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?
Yes, I do gigs as a singer, with theme woman and piano, also with band. I’m also performing in different kind of events as a violinist. Mostly private gigs now, but public events are coming soon.
7-What makes this kind of music “good” to you?
I like soulful sounds, lyrics are very important for me and also lively melody and good harmony. Musicality is my strength.
8-Why did you choose to play this kind of music?
It’s meaningful for me and it moves something deep inside of my heart.
9-Let’s Talk about your music and your last work…
I haven’t done my own songs yet, but I have so many ideas in my head and now I have a really great team around me. I’m so exited to get my own voice turned into music.
10-How do you feel about the internet in the music business?
There are always good and bad sides in new things. It’s easier to reach different kinds of music, but it’s also hard to earn as a musician, because recorded music is not sold much anymore like.
11-What are the plans for the future?
I’m starting to do my own music, working with new single and album. Also performing as a singer and violinist.
12-How has your music evolved since you first began playing music?
Well, I’ve done music so long that I believe age has given a wider perspective and deepness to my musical thinking and voice.
