Riverwood

Riverwood was formed by Mahmoud Nader in February 2018 after he was done with writing the story behind the first album “Fairytale” along with his friend Rowan Mohammed.
Mahmoud contacted his friend Omar Salem to join him and from there the two started working on the album and rewriting six songs that Mahmoud had written 2-3 years ago, adding some middle eastern musical instruments like the flute, nay, percussion, fiddle, cello and violin.
After finishing rewriting the six old songs the two then started working on the rest of the album and ended up adding two more songs (“Gates Below” and “Queen of the Night”) .With that the album was almost ready for production and they started finding members for the full line-up.
After some time Mahmoud added guitarist Seif Elsokkary, bassist Ahmed Shokry and drummer Mark Medhat to the line-up.
From that point, in March 2018, the band started recording the album from scratch.
On July 1, 2018 the band released a music video for their first single, “Möt ditt öde” (Meeting Death). Their second single “Queen of the Night”, released on September 1, 2018, has been ranked #6 on Anghami’s Top Metal of September.
Riverwood’s debut album “Fairytale” was released on December 31, 2018, and in the first month since the release of the album, five songs from the album were featured on Anghami’s Top Metal List.
