Stone Mob

In the Spring of 2017, we talked about Stone Mob as they first came on the scene.  At the time we were impressed with their musicianship- particularly the wild, innovative guitar work of Blaine Kaltman- and their songs which were catchy, fun, and all around great hard rock.  Since then Stone Mob has upgraded.  They have switched singers, written new material, and are now at the absolute top of their game.  If you like hard rock in the fine tradition of Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and the like- Stone Mob is your new favorite band.

Their recent live show (July, 2019) in Virginia was a raucous high energy explosion of a performance that left the crowd literally screaming for more.  Singer Matt Ross dominated the stage with supreme confidence and a flawless vocal performance, hitting impressive high notes and delivering Stone Mob’s lyrics with gusto.  The band’s seasoned rhythm section too put on a peak performance with bassist Eric Scott and drummer Andy Hamburger banging out the huge rolling bottom end Stone Mob is renowned for.  And, of course, guitarist Blaine Kaltman once again proved why he is known as The Shred Master General: dazzling the crowd by playing impossible licks while athletically leaping about the stage.

In recent months we haven’t heard much from Stone Mob.  Some of their videos have been taken down due to the lineup change and they have not played out for 6 months.  But it seems they have roared back to life with a vengeance.  These 4 rock and roll heroes still have an ever-growing legion of fans and their fanbase and critical acclaim are more deserved than ever.  Heavy and fun remain the pillars of Stone Mob’s signature sound but their new material is more musically mature.  Clearly these guys are on a mission to prove they can play as good if not better than anyone in the game- and they all have the chops and pedigree to back it up.   These guys are just getting better and better and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for the mighty Stone Mob.
