When and why did you start playing? Yes, I still remember the very first song I learned while attending kindergarten in Bulgaria. It was about a strawberry.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?. My teenage music inspirations were, of course some of the stars in my native Bulgaria and the International starts like Elvis, Creedence, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple , Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and many others.
Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones? Bulgaria is located on the Balkans the cultural influence is only enriched by all the neighboring countries. Parallel to that, they follow many of the international music tendencies. That makes for a great variety in melodies and rhythms.
Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes? I sang with my sister at school competitions, in the school choir too. I will attend talent nights, teenage singing groups, youth theater groups, etc
I remember winning a contest as a rock vocalist in a city by the Black sea called Nessebar… It was a fun experience.
Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV. I started making a living with singing in cover bands in Bulgaria, when I was 20 years old
People will make song requests and depends on the place they will order a Greek, English, and Serbian songs, so the bands will have some huge song-lists.
What makes this kind of music “good” to you? I remain versatile in my style while here in the states. While in Nashville i sang rock and country covers at my shows and I wrote my Americana style song “Eggs &Bacon(Waking up in Nashville)”
Why did you choose to play this kind of music? I studied music attending Harrold Washington college and UIC in Chicago. In Chicago I met my first cover band and this is something you can never forget.
Let’s Talk about your music and your last work… The last 2 songs I recorded are in the style of pop.
I’ve been getting lots of radio play with the song Hollywood. The music arranger Raz Klinghoffer plays all the instruments in the track.
How do you feel about the internet in the music business? Yes, the internet can be a blessing for the independent artist
I’m very happy with this song. It makes such a difference when you have a song you’re proud with, a radio quality music. This brought music back to be a high priority in my life, a happy return. I appreciate all the publicity “Hollywood” recieves, in magazines , online radios, and blogs. Yes, I agree, the internet is a blessing for the independent artist.
What are the plans for the future? I would just like to continue writing hit songs, and I would also like to write songs for other artists as wel Most important- thanks to all the fans for the support. Keep singing and dancing with “Hollywood”. Enjoy.
