Capable of transporting audiences back in time, Sound Frontier blends musicianship, creativity, and tradition, with the likes of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Clark Jr., and Eric Gales. Sound Frontier is like a body of water – mingling currents, constant flow, brought together in an influential and inspirational way. This eclectic Blues and Rock trio consists of the gaffa himself Ali Bishop on Guitar/Vocals, Eriq Robinson on Bass, and Malik Washington on Drums.
Ali Bishop is the product of what you can achieve when you put in your 10,000 hours of late night pub performances and rehearsals. He’s the innovative wild card of the band. When you hear Bishop play and sing, you are instantly teleported to the sounds and techniques of vintage guitar legends. His music is powerful, emotional, passionate and grabs you to take notice. Eriq Robinson– a bassist, electronic musician, and composer from Dallas Texas; with his clean sound, genuine soul, and meaningful connection, defines who he is and reminds you of where you want to be. Malik Washington, a ridiculously successful independent drummer, began playing at the age of 3 and has performed with ABC’s Dancing with the Stars road trip, Olu Ddara, Marcus Belgrave, Larry Ridley, Akil Desaan, the Newyorican Poetry Slam All-Stars, Soul Squad, and Frank Lacy. Malik has received direct impartation from studying with Dennis Davis, Mark Johnson, Kenwood Dennard, Warren Smith, and Bob Steward.
Their previous collaboration with Pebbelz Da Model has over 50,000 views on WorldStarHipHop. Their remix of the Hendrix classic “Hey Joe” has garnered over 150, 000 views on YouTube. Their remix of the Netflix series Luke Cage Soundtrack has over 60, 000 views on YouTube as well, and has also drawn praise from the showrunner Cheo Coker. Sound Frontier is currently finishing production of their new single “King Dawg” scheduled for release this summer.
