Michael Jackson! He’s the guy that ignited some force in me to do this as a kid I was so tapped in to his energy I always knew I would do this I professionally started playing in early 2009 there about in 2011 I opened for Mario in Ghana at the conference center in accra Ghana and in 2015 I opened for Lauryn Hill also on the BBNZ concert also in Accra the capital of Ghana.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

I admire jay z for his business instincts and moves and work ethic and admire Kanye a lot for his art and presentation I really like detail my all time fav was Michael obviously for being the greatest I mean look at how the guy was thinking back then INCREDIBLE!!! Then there’s Usher,I would have liked to leave him Out but I don’t know that will be me lying about my art of course at the time of influence I had no idea what he was up to Smh .

And Lauryn hills concert was in 2015 massive energy from the crowd it was amazing I have clips of it I always look back at it like damn lol

What makes this kind of music “good” to you?

Afrobeats have a dynamic in drums that no other genre has it’s just sweet and moving you can’t resist it I’m also from an rnb back ground so you hear the influences in there it’s just soooyhing to my eardrum.

Why did you choose to play this kind of music?

For the same reason it’s good to my ears it really speaks to the soul there are African incantations in the instrumentation I’m not surprised it’s taking over at all I feel like music began in Africa and it will end there if the world should end.

Let’s Talk about your music and your last work…

My music hmmmm my music is a pond of truth I don’t talk much so I say a lot through my music that’s my outlet since I lost my mother in 2019 I’ve been a bit more reserve and music is what’s been keeping me Going

How do you feel about the internet in the music business?

I feel like the internet gave us alot but also took something we can never get back, there is no mystery anymore I remember when we would have to wait 8 years just to hear a Michael album or even see an interview everything is in our faces I think that may have dimmed a light that will never shine as bright

What are the plans for the future?

I’m just ready to share my music with the world I’m more eager to find out what the universe thinks than just a small collective of people the world has also become very global that’s one benefit of the internet the world is smaller

1How has your music evolved since you first began playing music?

When I moved here I thought I was so crazy with the vocals till I went to coach derry’s class I I had to build more confidence in myself cus there was so much talent in the room sheesh I would say I’m like 300 times better today lol

Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

It’s wierd with me sometimes the melody comes before the beat and sometimes it’s vice versa but at this point I live to build with the producer right from scratch I work better this way we come up with a beat I come up with the lyrics more organically this way and it’s more therapeutic if that makes sense
