From Little Rock, Arkansas. “Mazzi” grew up in a small house with his grandparents. While not being very fortunate on the money side of things I was always making the best out of whatever we had. So whenever I was younger, I was gifted an old Apple MP3 player that was loaded with tons of Lil Wayne, Eminem, And Kanye West. I held onto that MP3 player for years until I started middle school in Lonoke, Arkansas. Towards the beginning of my 6th grade year, my love for music that I developed grew into me wanting to learn how to make it. My recourses were very limited so I had to learn with what I could. I started making music on a busted chromebook and a USB Mic that I found at a thrift shop. So after tons of tutorials and hours practicing, I finally made my first project “Snake Talk” which was completely engineered, and written, by myself. Then three years later… after even more practice, and acquiring better equipment, I finally decided to put all of my newer work onto an EP that I call “Don’t Speak” I decided to go with the name “Don’t Speak” after I realized that a lot of people my age aren’t allowed to voice their own opinion on certain issues, or they aren’t listened to because they’re “just a kid”. So I put together this EP to tell my own story and make a bridge for other people from my area to do the same thing. I just want to provide a light for other talented individuals from my city that need guidance and help with their own dream.
